Heads and Cills
With over 35 years of experience Harris Quarries have produced nearly every conceivable shape of head and sill imaginable, if you can design it, we can manufacture it. If there was a standard window sill size it would be 140mm x 140mm section and have a 150mm stooling on either end (this is the part at the ends that is built into the wall). In between the stooling is the throating or weathering, this is the slope that allows the rainwater to run away from the window frame. Prices for standard 140mm sills start at £42 per linear meter and we can cut a maxi mum length of approx 2.6 metre (if we have stone block available long enough). Heads again vary in size and shape with our most popular sizes being 215mm and 290mm face height having a usual bed depth of 100mm. Prices start at around £26 per linear metre for square section masonry.
